Enhancing Community Safety
Law believes that safety is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Their campaign prioritizes initiatives to ensure that residents and business owners will feel secure in Walnut. By fostering stronger relationships between law enforcement and the community, Law aims to ensure that safety measures are both effective and equitable.
Law’s goals include:
- The creation of a citizen’s safety commission
- Promoting neighborhood watch programs
- The creation of a business watch program
- Improving safety on Amar Road
Protecting Green Spaces
Green spaces are vital, they give Walnut its historical charm. Law is committed to preserving current greenspaces and promoting sustainable practices to enhance the health and beauty of our environment. In light of the Grants Pass Supreme Court case and the recent executive order on homelessness by Governor Newsom, Law also expresses concerns about public safety and public health-related issues, which she believes are key to protecting green space.
Law’s goals include:
- The creation of a codified homelessness ordinance
- Supporting city staff with code enforcement of green spaces
Promoting Community Involvement
Investing in our youth is an investment in our future. Law is dedicated to expanding educational and extracurricular opportunities for young people in Walnut. By working closely with educators, businesses, and community leaders, Law aims to provide our youth with the tools and support they need to succeed and thrive.
Law’s goals include:
- Implementing a robust internship program with the city on a semester basis
- Hosting an internship fair
- Opportunities to learn from the community through volunteering
- Improving city events
